We all know that Asia has so many amazing travel destinations that it is difficult to count. But when you think of travel destinations, it’s usually the places above (or under) solid ground that come to mind. However, the wonders of Asia do not cease when you leave dry land, quite the opposite.If you are not averse to getting a bit wet, the wonderful underwater sites of Asia will make a really good destination for you. So get your diving equipment (but not necessarily), and take a look at this list of top 5 underwater attractions in Asia.
Baiheliang Underwater Museu, Three Gorges Dam, China
Baiheliang Underwater Museum is located in the Three Gorges Dam in China, one of the biggest dams in the world. The museum gets its name from Baiheliang, a giant rock that has been used since ancient times to keep track of water levels in the region.In addition to the markings of water levels, the rock is covered in beautiful carvings of fish. The museum’s purpose if the preserve as much as possible of this ancient hydrological station and to allow visitors to see the rock through potholes.
Pulau Sipadan, Malaysia

Sipadan, an island off the coast of Malaysian Borneo, is known to be one of the best scuba diving sites in the world. Although much of its spectacularly beautiful coral reefs have been either bleached by the water or stolen by coral thieves, the underwater landscape is still breath-taking.
The turtle tomb is one of the most interesting sites – a cave system filled with the skeletons of turtles that got lost and drowned.
Similan Islands, Thailand
If you want to go diving in Thailand, the Similan Islands National Park is the best place to go. The park is huge and it contains 14 islands and a vast expanse of water with incredible diving spots. Derawan island, with its 28 dive spots, is a paradise for divers. You would need at least two weeks to explore all of them, and even them you won’t be able to meet all of its marine life (some of it you don’t want to meet anyway).The great biodiversity of Derawan features 872 species of reef fishes, 507 species of coral and several protected species, such as 5 giants clam species, 2 sea turtles, coconut crab.

Yonaguni is a tiny speck of an island with a wild and mysterious above the water landscape (with various strange rock formations) and an even more mysterious underwater landscape.
The island is in the middle of the open sea, so only experienced divers can reach most of the spots, such as the underwater ruins off the south coast of the island.
