    Pohnpei island is part of the Federate States of Micronesia, being also the largest and tallest among the four islands of the country.

    The other islands that comprise Micronesia are Chuup, Kosrae and Yap.

    The states lie east of the Philippines and Palau, north of Australia, west of the Marshall Islands and Nauru, northeast of Papua New Guinea and south of Marianas and Guam
