  • Useful Business Packing Tips

When packing for a trip, be it for pleasure or for business, we all have this tendency to fold in our suitcase as many garments as possible, leaving out sometimes exactly the compulsory items. Apparently a minor issue, the luggage that you bring along when travelling for business purposes might be the source of many headaches. In the worst case scenario, leaving home an important document or your suit might cost you the success of the business meeting. Therefore, in order to zip up a light, well-made luggage for your business trip, here are some basic tips that you have to put into practice.

    Files and Documents

First of all, since you’re about to go on a business trip, you should start by putting in order all the documents and files business-related. More precisely, arrange the handouts, the brochures and the other important files in binders and place them either in your briefcase or in a carry-on bag. As for the electronic files you have worked on, store them on a CD or even better, on a memory stick.

    Cell Phone, PDA and Laptop

Secondly, it is highly important that you save all the contact names of your business partners either on your cell phone or on your PDA. In this way, for every emergency that comes up and requires the contact of a business partners, you’ll know what number to dial. Many people completely forget about the charger of these devices, so make sure you’re not one of them. If you’re traveling to a different country, you may be better off purchasing prepaid cell phones in order to avoid international rates and don’t forget to grab your laptop if you intend to work during your flight or in the hotel room.

    Clothing

And here we are at the trickiest part of business packing: choosing the suitable garments for the occasion. Well, there is a golden rule: the lighter the luggage, the better! Hence, pack some formal clothes such as a suit composed of a short/long sleeved shirt, tie and pants that you could don at the business meeting and when dining in a fancy restaurant, but do not forget about the casual clothes as well. A polo t-shirt would match perfectly the suit belted pants. The key is to team various items in order to create an appropriate outfit. Taking into account you might soil your clothes by accident, bring along a back-up suit as well. As for the toiletries, we advise you to pack them in a distinct zip-lock bag, to avoid other incidents. The problem of your clothes getting crumpled has already a solution given in most of the hotel rooms nowadays there is an iron.

    Before you leave home

Now that you’ve done packing, it’s time to double-check. Moreover, it is compulsory to have your plane ticket, your passport, your identity card and your credit cards in your wallet that you will place strictly in the carry-on bag to avoid any loss. If the case, do not leave out the medicine you are taking.

When arriving at the airport, make sure you contact your business partners in case they don’t have your cell phone number. In this way, they can easily announce you of last-minute changes in your plans.

All in all, make some time in your busy schedule and dedicate it to a round of packing, otherwise you’ll run the risk of focusing more on troubles caused by a missing document than on the meeting itself and the impression you have to make. Remember! A “to do” list is always also helpful!

However, this doesn’t mean that only low-cost airlines have cheap rates since even standard airlines like Air Canada and Northwest have affordable rates to Cancun especially if you
book early or during off-peak season. What’s more, guided tours
are also at one’s disposal. In Cancun you will discover
the abundance of potential- something for each
age, holiday type, budget, as well as different activity.
