Dublin Travel guide

The name of this amazing Irish capital comes from the ancient word Dubh Linn, which means “black pool”. However, many historians don’t agree with this etymology, as they believe that the modern variant of this language is Baile Átha Cliath. The first reference that has been made about this town dates back to the year 140, when Ptolemy speaks about the city of Eblana, a name which is closely related to the derivation Dubh Linn.
