We can never be too confident and complacent about leaving our belongings properly. Well, I took it for granted. Being the careless student that I was (I was in Dublin for a short holiday – as I was an intern in a university in the UK, and was complacent as I thought it was a safe place to be). Well, I was busy shopping, and after shopping, I haphazardly placed my wallet in my backpack and zipped it up. Five seconds later, my friend realized that my bag was unzipped – wallet GONE! Moral of the story, don’t take things for granted, and always be mindful of your belongings.
Tip no 1: If you are carrying a backpack, always make sure it is sling to the front. Although it is uncomfortable, it might save you a whole lot of trouble (Thank God for me, my passport was intact).
Tip no 2: If you are not carrying a bag, for men especially, it is advisable to place your wallet in the front pocket, rather than the back.
Tip no 3: A no-brainer – ALWAYS split your cash. Put some in your shoes/boots or different pockets. I learnt it the hard way.

Dublin Sights

It is one of the world’s oldest cities, with one of the earliest references to its existence noted in the astronomer Ptolemy’s notes around 140 A.D. In later times, until around three centuries ago, Dublin’s rapid development and the fact that Dublin Castle was the [...]
