The public transportation in the city is not as reliable as one would think. For me for instance, last time the trip to the airport took more than one hour instead of the average 45 minutes (from Gare de Lyon in the city center to the Charles de Gaulle – CDG airport), so be careful traveling from/to the airport. On the other hand the workers of the AirFrance were really kind so I could check in to my flight 10 minutes after the check-in was closed. But of course, you better manage your time well and not rely only on the AirFrance. When you are not in hurry, take your time and walk, on the bank of the Seine, for instance, instead of using the crowded and dark metro; people aren’t very kind there and sometimes just walk into you when they are in hurry.
