Baltimore Sights and Landmarks Guide, Maryland

The wonderful sights in Baltimore, MD US attracts a lot of vacationers. In recent times, Baltimore has become one of the most popular tourist destinations of Maryland in the United States of America. One of the greatest attractions of Baltimore is its inner harbor which is always flooded with cruise boats, water taxis and sailboats. In fact, this highly populated harbor, which is always bustling with tourists and local people, is considered as one of the earliest seaports of the United States of America. The harbor place at the inner harbor is also an attractive crowd puller. This complex consisting of two adjacent malls has dozens of shops and restaurants. It also has the amphitheatre which serves as the perfect agent for absolute recreation. The events like jazz music performances and other activities make the inner harbor a tourist’s paradise.

The American Visionary Art Museum also present in the inner harbor displays the most interesting compilation of contemporary art from both professional as well as amateur artists. For the art lovers, this art it is the perfect place of visit. The USS constellation is another aspect that attracts a lot of vacationers to Baltimore.  It is the last warship with all-sail built by America. It is also the only afloat vessel from the civil-war era. The national aquarium is considered to be an important part of Baltimore that is visited and liked by most of the visitors.

Other sightseeing places in Baltimore includes the Federal Hill and Hamden. While the Federal Hill is considered to be an historic place comprising of several restaurants and bars, Hamden is an eclectic area in the northern part of Baltimore that is known for its fountain of ice cream soda. The place also has many restaurants, unique shops and antique stores. Hampden is also popular for the two day Honfest conducted every year during the spring season.

Fells Point and Port Discovery are other popular places to visit in the city of Baltimore. The number of museums that can be visited by tourists when they go to Baltimore is several. Some of the most common among them are the Maryland science centre, the Walters art museum and the Edgar Allan Poe house and museum. Maryland Zoo is also an important tourist destination of Baltimore.

With its picturesque background and wonderful friendly ambience, Baltimore is the perfect place for visit. It is opted by the vacationers for spending an enjoyable and recreational vacation.
