Alki Beach is the best and most beautiful place in Seattle for walking, volley, jogging and all that staff. Alki is a long stripe of beach of about 2.5 miles running from Alki Point to Duwamish Head.

The view is one of the great attractions, it is amazing how you see the city view melting into endless blue ocean. It was never really crowded while I was there so it's also perfect for some time you want to spend lonely.

The beach has fire pits where you can lit a campfire. It also has a clean restroom near Alki Point but there are also tables for picnic and a settlers monument on the place where the first settlers arrived and met Chief Seattle and his people.

It's real nice place in the whole year, but if you go during the summer, you can enjoy the sun and maybe even the water, it's temperature being between 46 and 56 degr. Fahrenheit. Final judgment: it's great!

Seattle History

Archaeological evidence suggests that the area of Seattle, WA has been inhabited for at least 4,000 years.  The first known residents belonged to the Duwamish tribe.  They were a group of Native Americans who were living on the site that is now Seattle when a small Methodist family, the Denny Party, arrived in 1851.  Arthur Denny desired a well-protected site in which to found a new settlement [...]
