What to see in Waldburg, Germany
On a steep, conical hill, the highest point of Oberschwaben (772 m above sea-level) the Waldburg rises. It was the ancestral castle of the lineage of the imperial duke of the same name. From 1221 through 1240 the imperial regalia were kept here.
Waldburg is a really small town really close to Ravensburg where we visited an ancestral castle.
It is a really well maintained castle with a lot of rooms and expositions, like shields, trophies, paintings, and a lot of old furniture. It is funny to find yourself back in time and imagine the lords living there.
A really great destination, not so far away.
This is only one of the castels in that region, maybe next time we can visit more of them.

Recommended Wuppertal Guide
Wuppertal history, even if not very long, it is quite interesting. Wuppertal’s unique topography bestowed as many advantages on the city as it posed challenges, making for many interesting happenings in the course of Wuppertal history. Wuppertal dates back only to 1929, when the city was carved out by uniting neighboring communities like Barmen, Beyenburg, Cronenberg, Elberfeld, Langerfeld, Ronsdorf and Vohwinkel. Nevertheless, the region was quite well-known even in the 19th century – by then the individual townships had already gained reputation as leading commercial/industrial centers and the Barmen-Elberfeld area (merged...
