From shopping and dining venues to nature parks and popular sports locations, LA offers a wide array of vacation and weekend getaways that friends and families can surely enjoy. One couldn’t really get enough of LA in one day.

  All the Fun in LA

The following are just few of the many famous attractions in LA. Fun is never spoilt and never stops when you’re in LA. There are many activities under the LA sun that makes every vacation truly a memorable experience.

Disneyland still remains to be the most popular tourist attraction in LA for decades. A top on the list for every tourist who visits LA, it’s definitely a place of wonder and excitement for many. Still nothing beats the Disney magic experience.

Universal Studios Hollywood is a sure hit among LA visitors. The theme park and studio tour is a crowd favorite for all ages. The movie in reality experience makes this tour thrilling and fun. If you want an LA experience that’s like no other, a tour to Universal is truly worth it.

If you can’t get enough of showbiz, then a tour to Hollywood Boulevard is surely hard to miss. Catch the glimpse of famous celebrity names on the Walk of Fame and watch entertaining shows at the Mann’s Theatre. The streets of Hollywood Boulevard speak a truly entertaining charm. Another popular showbiz attraction is the Sunset Boulevard. Guests can go “star-spotting” along the Sunset Strip and the famous celebrity posh neighborhoods.

For famous and stylish upscale shops, the Rodeo Drive sets the pace. This shopping area is home to many brand shops and unique fashion finds. There’s plenty of room for shopping sprees when you’re in this area.   A California getaway would never be complete without taking the time to go to its beaches.

LA has several hot beach spots such as the Venice Beach, the South Bay beach towns like Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, and the Hermosa Beach. One can get to experience LA’s trends and culture at its best when you’re on these beaches. There are also street performers and tacky shops that are all too amusing.

The Knott’s Berry Farm offers a fun-filled family getaway with its theme parks, shows and over 165 different rides. The thrilling rides all spells fun but is never a load on the budget. For a good family weekend, this is absolutely a place to visit.

Another famous theme park in the area is the Six Flags Magic Mountain. It’s an old-fashioned but exciting attraction with several heart-pounding and exhilarating roller coaster rides.

California Science Center situated in Exposition Park near the downtown is an interesting and fascinating science museum that offers a unique learning experience for everyone. It hosts a wide variety of special exhibits that are both interactive and fun. There is also a science museum book and several gift shops in the area.

For baseball fans, a visit to the Dodger Stadium is a one in a lifetime experience. Home to the Los Angeles Dodgers, a tour along the field can be a sure treat. It also offers a great view over downtown Los Angeles, the Elysian hills, and the San Gabriel Mountains, so guests can also enjoy the views of LA.

  • eratoGreat Church of Scientology >> added on December 15, 2009, by erato
The Church of Scientology in Los Angeles is one of the largest in the world and it was moved to its present place in 1974.
The huge blue building once gave home to a hospital, the street on which the building stands is named after L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology.

The Church also provides different courses about the Principles of Scientology and also the famous IQ and personality tests.

Close to the church you can find the museum of the anti-psychiatric institution of Scientology, it is called Psychiatry: an industry of Death.
    Have fun!...

Take about 30min to visit Hollywood, there is not much there, but it's worth 30min. The drive up towards the Hollywood sign, you can drive way up the hills between the residential area to get a good view over the city.
Also, while in LA check out Redondo and Hermosa Beach, Santa Monica 3rd street for shopping, and venice Beach of course on the weekend. In terms of food, I recommend Lawry's for Prime Rib, Ruth Chris's for regular steak and Little Tokyo for some great Japanese food. There are also plenty of great Asian food places in East LA (Alhambra) as well as China Town, Little Tokyo, and Korea Town. make sure you visit LA with a friend, it's much more fun with a local.
