Located 137 km from Yulin and 139 km fro Yantai, Dalian is not one of the major cities in China but it has an intricate history that has contributed to its popularity today. The city became popular because of its geographical location and recent developments that’s almost unrivalled in the country.

The city is located in the northeast part of the country. Tourists should be able to visit the city without any challenges. The city has an international airport which connects the tourists, locals and businessmen to major cities in the country and neighboring countries. There are also tourists who opted to use the train however the travel might last longer. The development of the city is also seen on the way they control traffic – sale of motorcycles is not allowed so their use is very rare. Instead of having a car, the best way to visit different places in the city is through the light rail. The city was even named as the most livable city in China. Except for the western district of the city, the other two districts of the city have their respective beaches you can visit. The western end of the city features historical sites such as the city’s museum. Outside the city are golf courses, ski parks as well as a hot spring although you have to travel a little bit outside Dalian to enjoy these activities.

The best time to visit Dalian is during the summer months. The beaches are teeming with tourists and there are festivals happening in different districts of the city featuring fireworks, music and food festivals. But remember that the coastline could be a little bit crowded during these months. Aside from foreigners, locals are also visiting Dalian for a day or two. If you’re into fashion, the city also hosts an annual international fashion show every September.
