Yantai is also better known as “hometown of fruits”. With its abundant production of fruits, it has successfully managed to develop a fruit industry of its own. The economy here also receives an additional booster from the seafood and sea products, such as prawns, sea cucumbers, abalones and scallops. These fish products are exported to the rest of the country and the world.

Being situated along an extensive coastline, the area is famous for its huge palette of seafood. A large variety of seafood, fruits and vegetables are the specialty of this place. The region is also characteristically known for its wine production. This is the largest wine production base in Asia.
