Every city has a couple of those fancy neighborhoods where the rich and famous reside, and Singapore is not exception to the rule. Katong district started out as a planned city, and while I'm not much of a fan of these 'artificial' towns, Katong is really something that you have to see when visiting Singapore.

The district is chock full of amazing colonial architecture, as well as more modern villas that you can only dream about living in. The elite of the city stroll down the neat and perfectly designed streets, or cruise in their expensive cars. Many tourists visit this area fr sightseeing, so there are plenty of restaurants and cafes around, but be careful because they are anything but cheap.

All in all, a good place if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city center for a while.

Price:
Free, unless you want to stop at a horribly expensive restaurant
