Verne was born in Nantes and the Museum was opened for the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth. It's a great place for everyone who lived Verne's works in his/her childhood, or even now. The building is not very big, but the inside is great.

The personal objects of Verne are displayed, early editions of his books, manuscripts, illustrations and even models from his books' machineries.

Also, very close to the museum there is a nice planetarium that you can also visit. If you are with kids, they will love both places.

  • Lidl Stores - cheap food
For the cheapest store food in Lille, I recommend Lidl stores. They don't shine by modernism or fancy design, but products there are really cheap. The one we used to shop is located on Rue Léon Gambetta and it's open until 8 PM, at least [...]

  • Cathedral Notre Dame
The Gothic style Cathedral is the main attraction of the city. It would be really hard to miss it because it's huge. It was built from volcanic rock, just like all the other old buildings in the city, so it is totally black. If you look [...]
