Founded by a Spanish man, Jaime Partagas, in 1845, this cigar factory is one the largest and most famous in Cuba. Visiting the factory is a must not just for those who are smoke-addicts, but to those who are keen on knowing something about how Cubans work too.

There are tours held all day long, though the official touring times are at 10am and 2pm. It is interesting to see how tobacco is rolled, pressed and boxed and though the tour may seem a bit rushed, you still get a glimpse of cigar-making which is pretty educational.

You can also buy famous brands of cigars, like Montecristos and Cohibas, the latter being the brand Fidel Castro smoked, in the small shop La Casa del Habano.

Havana Nightlife

Music in Cuba is one of a kind.  There are not a lot of people who can feel the music as Cubans do.  Between the lyrics, the beats and the dancing there is nothing better.  La Tropical is a great hot spot for live music.  However it is only open when there are going to be performances.  The information is normally posted all around the city when there is a show.  If you are looking for a [...]
