Saint Louis, MO US - Overview: Excellent Place for Medical Aspirants
In 1764, René Augusta Chouteau and Pierre Laclede established Saint Louis as a fur trading post, after Louis IX, the king of France. The Soulard Farmer’s Market, which was founded in 1779, is in operation till date and prides itself on being the oldest farmer’s market in the west. Even the president, Ulysses S. Grant also used to peddle goods there.
Saint Louis is located on the border linking humid subtropical and humid continental climate. The absence of large water bodies and mountains leads to failing in moderating its temperature. The presence of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, which is one of the best in the state of Missouri, makes traveling to Saint Louis comfortable. The city is also serviced by several interstate freeways including I-255, I-170, I-55, I-44, I-70, I-270 and I-64 and county & state roadways. Again, the presence of an extensive public transit network, which includes buses, taxi (24-hour network) and rail services, will help you reach different parts of the city with no hassle.
