Pyongyang Sights and Landmarks Guide, North Korea

The capital city of Pyongyang is famous amongst tourists and it is also the first city visited by almost every tourist, as it is the capital of North Korea. All international flights land in the city of Pyongyang.

To start with, one should visit the world deepest metro rail system which is part of Pyongyang itself. The depth of the metro rail system in the city of Pyongyang is around 110 meters.

The bronze statue of Kim II Sung who was one of greatest leaders who had ruled China ever. The statue is located in the region called as Mansudae and is around 20 meters in height. The governing authorities expect every tourist visiting this statue to pay tribute to the famous king by laying flowers available in the proximity. The king built a self tribute in his memory and that is the first monument you will notice instead of the statue. All in all, the entire place is worth a visit due to its historical nature.

If you visit the city of Pyongyang late in the year, you should consider yourself lucky that you will get the chance to visit the one of the greatest shows which are ever held on this plant. The Arirang Mass Games attracts over 100000 participants and much more show watchers thus making the show as the most important even which is organized every in the capital city of North Korea. You will find people arriving from the rest of the country just to participate in the huge game show.

Another monument, which was built in the memory of Kim II Sung, is the huge Juche Tower. It is 170 meters high monument and is famous amongst the tourists as one can travel to the top of the monument to enjoy an awesome view of the city from the top.

Some other places that must be visited whenever you hit the city of Pyongyang are Children’s Palace, USS Pueblo, stamp shop, Korean War Museum, and the famous Arch of Triumph.
