Greve Strand is located 30 km south of the capital city, Copenhagen, 102 miles from Odense in a splendid bay, on Denmark’s island Sjælland. Surrounded by forests, the beach resort, located between the small towns of Greve and Ishøj, offers various activities on its beach such as swimming, fishing and surfing. In summertime, harbor festivals, season markets and sailing races are held here to the delight of its visitors.

Greve municipality dates only from 1970 and its municipal council is located in the town of Greve. With a population of around 47,773 inhabitants, it operates as a suburb of the capital city of Copenhagen.

The history of the place goes back to 1960s, when the area was only covered by some holiday cottages of many inhabitants of Copenhagen. Since then, plenty of people have moved out of Copenhagen and settled down in Greve. More districts of new detached houses, new shopping malls and business office buildings have risen on the coast.

Today it is the best place for those looking forward to an unforgettable vacation, rich in varied experiences. There is nothing else to do round here but to enjoy the cool breeze of the sea or to participate in many of the leisure activities on the clean beach.

Greve Strand Travel Guide – The Coastline of the Bay 'Køge Bugt'

The area of holiday houses in Greve Strand expand itself along the coastline of the wondrous bay 'Køge Bugt', 2 km far from Greve and 7 km far from Ishøj. Both towns offer some cultural treasures.
