Mix is a great dance club located at the Swan Hotel. The pronunciation of the name is the same in Chinese or English, so this one is well known to all. Dress is trendy and warm, as this is one of the coldest cities in China during the winter.

If you are looking for a great restaurant, Harbin is the place to be. There are several to choose from, and one of the most popular is Huamei. This restaurant is over 100 years old and boasts some of the finest food in the city. While the service can be somewhat lacking at times, the food more than makes up for it.

Zheng Yang, renamed from Wang Ji, has been listed as one of the top fifty restaurants in the province. They offer authentic northeastern Chinese fare, and at a reasonable price. The service is excellent and the décor is interesting.

Many travel magazines recommend Hua Mei Xi. This restaurant is widely known in the city and any taxi will be able to take you right to it. It is a melting pot of different Chinese food. The waiter will often refer foreigners to the second floor, which is nicely decorated.

The Russian Café is very small with only ten tables, but it is always crowded and has become a popular tourist’s stop. The walls are covered with old photographs of the city, and glass bookcases hold old clocks and cameras, as well as glassware and porcelain. Many of these items are also for sale. The menu is not very rich, but there is a good offering of Russian food. It is very authentic and very good.
