Rio de Janeiro counts for being one of the most beautiful cities on the face of the earth. This exceptionally beautiful city comes to be the second largest in Brazil, while being the capital city of the Rio de Janeiro state. This wonderland city is most commonly known by its short name as Rio besides being given the nick name of “The Marvelous City”. 

This beautiful place is known across the world for its scenic beauty, natural wonders, majestic white sand beaches, carnival celebrations and different music forms like samba. The splendid beaches lay decorated at the sides with cream and black churn pattern mosaics.

In addition to the marvelous beaches, the most legendary and celebrated local landmarks include the great Sugarloaf Mountain and the Maracana Stadium, which is counted in the category of the biggest football stadium in the world.

Besides these landmarks, another beautiful familiar sight is the huge Jesus statue, commonly known as “Christ the Redeemer” and is also recently ranked as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.     

In all respects, Rio de Janeiro is a breathtaking place of amazing contrasts with sheer granite mountains going beyond the vast ocean. These steep hills stand between the immaculate colonial buildings nestling among the contemporary glass skyscrapers, wonderful stretches of yellow sand and lush wooded areas tumbling down the hillsides into the heavily inhabited residential areas.
