What to do in San Francisco, California
Reviews > North America > United States > San Francisco > What to do in San Francisco
Fisherman's Wharf is nice and give you a little bit of a European feeling, however all the seal lions are gone now which is kind of sad.
Anyhow, we had a nice walk and in the end Lori decided that he really needed to take the Cable Car up the hill once. Alright, I was driving the car to stay close to the Cable Car, which is not that easy, because it's hard to drive that slow.
We caught up with Lori and then headed towards China Town. I think the China Town in San Francisco is a really nice one because they have all these Chinese looking buildings and the atmosphere is much cozier than for example in New York or Los Angeles.
We checked out some shops and then headed back to the car to get out of the city and drive towards Menlo Park where we had another business meeting.

San Francisco History
By the time Mexico achieved its independence from Spain in 1821, the settlement found on this area became known as Yerba Buena. In 1847, the year after the Mexican-American war ended and California was ceded to the United States under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, Yerba Buena was renamed San Francisco. The following year, gold was discovered in Coloma, California and by 1849, settlers came to San Francisco by the thousands hoping to strike it rich. These “forty miners” as they were called congregated in San Francisco forever changing the fortunes of the once idyllic village to one of the most well-known cities in the United States....
