Shopping in Barstow, California

We got up and were all fresh again after a good night rest at the hotel. We didn't even bother grabbing breakfast and were planning to eat some nice IN-N'OUT over at Barstow, which of course never happened :)

We did reach Barstow after a good 2 hour drive through the desert. Finally, the weather was warm again like we were used to it from before. It was actually a nice drive and an interesting one as well. We saw some cool rock formations, some dark rock that looked like volcanic rock as well as some white sand, which looked like gypsum or possibly salt.

Anyhow, the drive was nice and we ended up eating some greasy burgers at Carl's Junior. We then headed to the outlet to do some shopping. I really needed some clean undies and some new jeans and the $17 for Levi's 501s did not sound too bad. At these prices even guys become shoppers :)

We left Barstow after Lori had spent about 2 hours trying on stuff :) very very girly indeed, but hey, it's ok, it was really that cheap.

It took about two hours to get back to LA and drive straight to the airport to drop Axel off. I somehow managed to convice the check-in lady to change his ticket so he could stay longer. And the best of all was that he did not have to pay extra - great!

We drove down to Isaac's place where we spent the night, ready to get up the next day and leave for San Francisco.

Recommended Columbus Guide

Columbus History

By 1834, Columbus was already considered a city, as its population surpassed 3500 inhabitants. By the time the Civil War began, Columbus had been included on the railroad map. The civil war represents an important episode in Columbus history, as a major military camp and an imprisonment camp for Confederate soldiers were erected on the city’s outskirts. The following decades were characterized by economic growth: Columbus came to be acknowledged as the world’s ‘buggy capital’ and was served by a system of electric street cars. Also, several academic, medical, financial, social and administrative institutions were... Read more »
