Shopping in Barstow, California

We got up and were all fresh again after a good night rest at the hotel. We didn't even bother grabbing breakfast and were planning to eat some nice IN-N'OUT over at Barstow, which of course never happened :)
We did reach Barstow after a good 2 hour drive through the desert. Finally, the weather was warm again like we were used to it from before. It was actually a nice drive and an interesting one as well. We saw some cool rock formations, some dark rock that looked like volcanic rock as well as some white sand, which looked like gypsum or possibly salt.
Anyhow, the drive was nice and we ended up eating some greasy burgers at Carl's Junior. We then headed to the outlet to do some shopping. I really needed some clean undies and some new jeans and the $17 for Levi's 501s did not sound too bad. At these prices even guys become shoppers :)
We left Barstow after Lori had spent about 2 hours trying on stuff :) very very girly indeed, but hey, it's ok, it was really that cheap.
It took about two hours to get back to LA and drive straight to the airport to drop Axel off. I somehow managed to convice the check-in lady to change his ticket so he could stay longer. And the best of all was that he did not have to pay extra - great!
We drove down to Isaac's place where we spent the night, ready to get up the next day and leave for San Francisco.

Metairie Travel guide
Although by name it is an international airport, the only destination outside the U.S. is Mexico City. However, in the near future, several more international destinations are planned to be added. You can take a taxi or a bus from the airport to reach the city centre. You can also get to New Orleans by bus or train, although it is not really worth the time unless you are already in Louisiana, or in a neighboring state. From Baton Rouge, the state’s capital, you can only get to New Orleans by car, surprisingly enough, as there are no public transport links at all. As Metairie does not have a city centre where you can walk around... Read more »
