Midland Nightlife, Michigan

Midland nightlife means fine dining, drinking and merry-making very similar to its neighboring cities like Grand Rapids and Bay City. Midland has a number of restaurants and steak houses as well as bars/pubs and lounges. No matter their type, most of these dining/drinking establishments serve the guests until late at night. Rock-N-Round-Up, at 1811 Bay City Road, is the only nightclub in the city.

Midland Nightlife – Bars and Pubs

The many watering holes of Midland are equally popular with its resident and visiting crowds. Duel Bar, Frick's Bar, Main Street Sports Pub, Overpass Bar, Playground Bar CLM Corporation and Winstons Pub are some of Midland’s most popular bars. The Frick’s Bar at 4408 N Saginaw Road, Midland, has an adjoining pool hall; however, if you are more of a no-activity creature in a pub, opt for the quiet Duel Bar or Overpass Bar. Winstons Pub offers you healthy food, soups and fruit/vegetable salads even meat apart from regular drinks. The Main Street Sports Pub at 101 E Main Street, Midland, is a full-service entertainment venue. Besides offering the choicest drinks, the bar-cum-restaurant is good for casual dining and advance reservations are accepted.

Midland Nightlife – Restaurants and Lounges

Midland has some quality restaurants – there’s Big D'S Bar & Grill, Cafe American Restaurant & Coffee Bar, Gimmicks (at Valley Plaza Resort), Oscar's Restaurant and Shirlene's Cuisine. While you get home-made food at Shirlene’s Cuisine, the rest are Steak or Bar & Grill restaurants; some even serve drinks. Oscar's Restaurant is a great favorite among non-smokers as it has a separate non-smoking zone.

Midland has two specialty restaurants – one Japanese and the other Chinese. While Genji's Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar (2929 S Saginaw Rd.) offers authentic Japanese fare and drink, China Palace (1908 S Saginaw Rd.) serves Chinese dishes.

Midland has quite a few lounges that have pool halls and other sports bar facilities, besides serving as full-menu restaurants. Take for example, the Boulevard Lounge at 316 S Saginaw Rd.; it is a popular area sports bar-cum-restaurant. Operating seven days a week, Boulevard Lounge serves everything from breakfast food to dinner.

Other lounges within the city limits are Crossings Restaurant & Lounge, Decker's Lounge and Stan's Wagon Wheel Lounge. While the Crossings Restaurant & Lounge stands on 111 W Main Street, Decker's Lounge is by 402 E Ellsworth St. and Stan's Wagon Wheel Lounge is at 2185 S Meridian Road.

Midland nightlife does not promise you much variety but you will still have choices in food and drinks as well as some simple diversions to keep you engaged for a couple of nights.
