Arosa, Switzerland – Overview

Arosa is a municipality in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. It was discovered in 1883 by a German doctor. Arosa is regarded as one of the best tourist spots in Switzerland. It lies at the height of elevation of 1,800 meters, tiny lakes and forests.

It is also considered a popular winter and summer resort. The town of Arosa is situated in the district of Plessur in Schanfigg valley. Arosa comprises an area of 42.54 square kilometers. Historical evidences shows that the first settlement in Arosa was established in the 13th century.

The Romansh-speaking were the first settlers in this area. After Romans, Arosa German-speaking Walser settlers came into this area and settled here. The main economy of this city is Tourism. Every year a large number of tourists from Switzerland and other parts of the Europe visit Arosa to explore its beauty, culture and history. The town of Arosa has been a popular alpine health resort. The mountains and fields of Arosa are covered with snow throughout the year.
