Snowboard and ski in Arosa, Switzerland

Arosa is a small mountain resort in Switzerland. It was discovered in 1883 as a health resort, but after a few years it became a winter resort. It is still new as a resort in comparison to its older sisters in the country. You can get to know a lot about Arosa’s history if you visit the local history museum.

Tourists can get to know the region very easily thanks to the free of charge means of transport provided that you spend the night there.

This and other things makes Arosa a non expensive resort but nevertheless one that offers a lot in terms of entertainment, scenery, sun and snow.

It is well known for its alpine activities in spite the fact that the sun shines about 8 to 12 hours a day, there is still plenty of snow due to its favorable position. There are a lot of runs for intermediate skiers but there are also long and dangerous slopes destined to the more experienced ones. Skiing is excellent here and a lot come just for this.

Surprisingly small in comparison to the many things it has to offer Arosa enchants its visitors with its contrasts. Besides skiing you can practice a lot of other sports there like tennis, mini golf played inside, walking on marked trails or even bowling. I have left horseback riding at the end because it is one of the most sought activities around as it offers the best facilities in the eastern part of the country. Being so popular it is not easy to just walk in and have a ride you need to make reservations ahead.

You can visit a charming little church dating the 18th century and not only visit, you are invited to pray there.

Small but with a lot to offer Arosa is among the prime destinations in Switzerland.
