Busan Sights and Landmarks Guide, South Korea

This city is a great alternative tourist spot to Seoul, which is usually very busy and crowded.

Busan does offer some historical sites to see, like the Geumjeong Fortress, but most of the other attractions in the city are somewhat diverse. 

 Busan is best known for its seven beaches.  Haeundae Beach is a very popular spot and home to the Busan Aquarium, the largest in the country.  Directly behind this beachfront, the Pusan (as Busan was once known) International Film Festival is held during the first part of October.

Busan is also known for its hot springs.  Hur Shim Chung Spa boasts to be the largest in Asia, and offers hot, cold, tepid, and a strawberry milk bath.  There is a restaurant, salon, and an oxygen room. 

As far as attractions, there are a lot to see Busan.  Double-decker buses offer tours daily, with stops at Taejondae.  This park is famous for the white lighthouse on the shore.  You can grab a glimpse of the beautiful green sea from an observation area in the lighthouse.

Also consider the Busan Tower, located in Yongdusan Park in the center of the city.  At the top of this impressive structure, you will have an incredible panoramic view of the city.  Another tourist attraction and an unusual place to visit is Mt. Hwangryung.  This is an indoor skiing facility, open year round.

There are many fantastic restaurants to choose from in Busan.  You might consider Four Season Raw Fish.  It’s simple to order here; there are only three sets of food available.  This restaurant offers traditional North Korea food, including octopus tentacles that are still moving!

Busan is a vibrant city, with a great many attractions.  Consider this city when you are planning your next vacation.
