Amsterdam, Sights- general presentation

When you pronounce Netherlands, the first city that comes to your mind is its capital: Amsterdam. This amazing place is located in the west part of the province of North Holland. Besides the large number of inhabitants who have chosen this city as their homes, Amsterdam is also the headquarter of important large Dutch institutions and a highly visited tourist point.

The main tourist attraction in this beautiful cultural city is represented by museums. Almost everybody choose to see Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum, but Amsterdam’s offer doesn’t stop here. The over fifty such places that you can find here give you a unique show of Golden Age paintings, interesting theater plays, modern art, photography exhibitions and film shooting. And Amsterdam would loose its charm without the sex, erotic or torture museums.

You cannot possibly leave this capital without first seeing its center, the Dam, which is the heart of the city. Here, you can find out more about its past, as this historical site will tell you the story of the many dramatic events that took place along the history. In the center of the square, there is the Royal Palace, whose beautiful architecture and fine sculptures glorify the reputation of this amazing city and its government.

Just like any other important capital city, Amsterdam has a large number of city tours, bus tours, canal cruises and walking tours to make your stay a pleasant one.
