Guadelupe, Mexico – Overview

Guadelupe is a volcanic island located along the coast of Mexico's Baja California peninsula. Guadelupe Island has a small population. There is a chain of high volcanic mountains. The valley of Guadelupe also consists of barren and fertile land in the northern part.

In Guadelupe, there are two big islets and many small islets. Some of the neighboring islets of Guadelupe are Islote Afuera, Islote Negro, Steamboat Rock, Roca Elefante and Islote Bernal etc. Guadelupe has hot and arid climate zones.

The island of Guadelupe is home to very rare species of animals and plants including Baeriopsis guadalupensis, Erysimum moranii, Eschscholzia palmeri, Galium angulosum, Marah guadalupensis, Sphaeralcea sulphurea and Dudleya guadalupensis etc.

One can find here some of the most popular buildings and monuments of Mexico. These historical buildings include Our Lady of Guadalupe, The Basilica of Guadalupe, The Basilica of Guadalupe, Monterrey, Sierra de Guadalupe and Villa Guadalupe etc.

The island of Guadelupe, Mexico is a great tourist spot for the tourists from all over the world, being an ideal place for honeymooners, couples and families. There are oceanic white tip sharks, yellow fin tuna, Cuvier's beaked whales and big white sharks etc.

In summer, the water of Guadelupe is clear. Rare and interesting species of animals and plants can be seen here: marine mammals, fur seals, elephant seals, beaked whales and bottlenose dolphins. Guadalupe preserves primitive plants and animals.

There are many rocks and undersea pinnacles that surround the island of Guadelupe.

Guadelupe offers a lot to the visitors that can enjoy swimming, hiking, sailing, snorkeling, horseback riding and diving etc. There are a large number of diving places in Guadelupe.
