Named after one of Mexico’s most prized presidents, Benito Juarez, Ciudad Juarez attracts many United States citizens and people from all around the world for its beauty, culture and daily life activities. 

This city attracts many US citizens due to its close proximity to the US, it is on the US Mexican border.  Although Ciudad Juarez (Juarez City) has been plagued by drug lords and violent gangs, all narcotics related, it is truly a beautiful city to experience.  Just make sure you stay safe and do not make yourself a touristic target.

The most popular activity to see in Juarez is a bullfight.  These bullfights occur in the Plaza de Toros but only occur during its season.  However, you can check out Plaza de Toros year round and take a tour of the facility.  The difference between Juarez and other places that fall on the US Mexican border is that this is a huge city.  Therefore, there are all of the greatest facilities such as movie theatres, hotels, shopping centers, restaurants and more that you can visit. 

In terms of touristic sightseeing there are plenty of churches and museums to keep you busy for at least a week.  Considering the highly devoted Catholics of Mexico, there are many churches for you to admire.  These include the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Guadeloupe Mission (Guadeloupe or the Virgin Mary is the Patron Saint of Mexico) and the San Jose Church.

If you are interested in brushing up on your Juarez history, you can visit many museums that are dedicated to the city and state of Mexico as well as to its art.  You can visit the Art and History Museum, the Juarez History Museum and the San Agustin Regional Museum.  Some other great places to go to include taking a walk over to the Benito Juarez Monument and the Chamizal.  If you are looking for natural beauty then you may want to take a tour of the Salalayuca Dunes in Juarez.
