Bikaner Sights and Landmarks Guide, India

Bikaner is famous for the numerous historical monuments which are built in and around the city. To start with, one can visit the famous Junagarh Fort. Raja Rai Singh is said to be responsible for planning, designing, and building this fort. Raja Rai Singh was the 6th ruler of Bikaner. He overtook the control of Bikaner somewhere in the year 1571 and ruled till the year 1612. Raja Rai Singh enjoyed control over a territory in Gujarat even when Mughals were ruling the country as Mughal Ruler Akbar had granted him control over this category considering his brave mentality. Raja Rai Singh loved to travel from place to place and during these travels he noted the kind of architecture which was prevalent in neighboring places. He was quick to utilize those ideas to build Junagarh Fort.

Moolnayakji is said to be the first Viashnav Temple of Bikaner which was built somewhere in the year of 1486. It was built for the deity Lord Moolnayak Krishna. It was Maharaja Ganga Singh who ruled the State till it was merged with the Indian Union after the Independence of India. This palace was designed somewhere in the year of 1902 by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, a famous British architect. This palace is now being used as a hotel which is run under Golden Triangle Fort and Palace Private Ltd.
