Tegucigalpa Sights and Landmarks Guide, Honduras

There are multiple spectacular places to visit in Tegucigalpa in Guatemala, but it is a dangerous city especially at night so caution should be taken and it is imperative that one travels in a group; the larger the better. Nevertheless, this should not prevent you from seeing the beautiful sights that Tegucigalpa has for you. If the city’s name, Tegucigalpa is too hard to pronounce or remember you can call it by its nickname, Tegus.

There are many natural sights such as large beautiful parks that incorporate some of Guatemala’s most historic and important buildings. For example the Parque La Leona, Lioness Park, is located in the oldest part of Tegucigalpa. This park is located near the Central Park which contains the Suyapa Basiclica. La Leona has spectacular panoramic views of the entire city. You should not miss this place especially if you just want to feel relaxed. This is the best park to come to.

You can also visit the Parque Picacho which contains the largest statue of Jesus Christ in Guatemala. The remarkable part about this park and church is that no matter where you are in the city, you can orient yourself by finding the statue because it is always visible. While you are here you can take a walk over to the National Zoo of Guatemala to see a variety of animals and reptiles.
