Quebec Sights and Landmarks Guide, Quebec

Quebec, QC Canada - Sights

Quebec is one of the most popular cities in North America. It has a distinct culture, language (French) and sights that will truly amaze any tourist. Your guided tour could take all day visiting key destinations but it will take more than a day to visit most tourist spots of Quebec.

The Plains of Abraham

One of the most popular tourist spot in Quebec is the Plains of Abraham. This land is also called the Battlefield Park because of the numerous battles that happened in this piece of land. Aside from its historical significance, the park is also the perfect place to observe the city.

Chateau Frotenac

Definitely the most popular building in Quebec, any tour in the city will never be complete without a visit to Chateau Frontenac. This massive and elegant structure was built in 1893 as a hotel. Today, the structure houses different restaurants and bars. If you do have the budget, you can also stay in the Chateau as the place is also a hotel. On the other hand, you can also have a guided tour around the area for merely $8.00. The tour guide will always have stories to tell especially one of the meeting places of the key leaders during World War II.

Montmorency Falls

Another tourist spot that should never be missed, Montmorency Falls is just a few minutes outside the city by car. As you get near to the destination, you will hear the sound of the water which thunderously hits the ground. This falls is 50% taller than Niagara which explains its power. Once you get there, you can either go through different pathways which will make you get closer to the water. Cable car is also available if you want to really close to the world renowned waterfall.

Terrasse Dufferin

The sign that points you to Terrasse Dufferin could be seen from most parts of the city. This enticing sign will lead you to the boardwalk which features some of the remarkable structures of the city such as the Chateau and the massive building that commemorates the city's membership to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Quebec City has been granted with this distinction because they are the only remaining walled city in North America. The boardwalk is also full of street performers and tourists. The boardwalk will also provide a beautiful view of St. Lawrence River. A walk in Terrasse Dufferin will show you the best Quebec has to offer.
