Big Ben is the largest four-dial clock in the world. The bell inside is 13.5 tons, and the clock with the four dials has a diameter of 7 meters. The name of Big Ben comes from Benjamin Hall, the man who commissioned its installation. Big Ben is actually the clock itself, but the name has spread the entire tower of Westminster Palace, which it is installed. It was put into operation in 1859 and in the 150 years of operation the bells were stopped for various maintenance works in the years 1956, 1939 and 2009. The clock has cracked shortly after it was installed, but could be corrected and continue to call until now. The Big Ben Tower has a height of 96 meters and is the preferred British monument.
