Mysore History

Mysore is one of the largest cities in the state of Karnataka, India, and is around 145 kilometers from the capital of Karnataka i.e. Bangalore. Mysore is spread over an area of around 130 kilometer square and it is located right on the footsteps of Chamundi Hills. Recently the name of Mysore was changed to Mysuru. In its early years the area which surrounds Mysore was ruled by Mahishasura, a deamon. This area was famous by the name of Mahishūru during those years.
