Uhldingen-muhlhofen History

Uhldingen was one of the places, were the salt of the mines from the abbey at the "Salzkammergut" was shipped. From 1733, Uhldingen was the main shipping harbour of the county of Heiligenberg. Even the Bishop of Constance had properties there. After the Secularizationfrom 1803,1804, the villages were put to the grand duchy Baden and became the independent municipalities Oberuhldingen, Unteruhldingen and Mühlhofen. From 1939 till 1973 the villages belonged to the district "Überlingen". After the district reform 1973 they belonged to the district of the lake of constance. SInce the first januar 1972, [...]
