Most German train stations have a little nasty little bar inside or right next to the station. For Stuttgart, which obviously has lots of restaurants and shops inside, this is different. The Stuttgart train station has a bar on top of their tower, which actually gives you a great view over the city.

In case you need to hang out there for a while, make sure to climb the stairs and have a beer or two.
