Caracas Nightlife

Caracas, Venezuela has a very vibrant night life.  Visitors looking for a night of great fun on the town will not be disappointed.

There are many different types of clubs, bars, and discos in Caracas.  Below you find a small listing of some of the most recommended.  If you ask someone for advice while in Caracas, you will probably get another set of recommendations.  Take a chance and experience the nightlife for yourself.

Las Castellana is a prominent nightlife area of Caracas.  This neighborhood sits next to Altamira, another area of town known for its eateries.  Consider Centro San Ignacio and Plaza Las Americas.  Both are very nice, although the later is sometimes full of students.  San Ignacio is where more of the wealthier Caracans go.  There are lines to get into the clubs in this area, but once inside, the party is in full swing.

Another very interesting bar is Somoa.  This great place has a surfing theme, complete with a large sequoia tree to make the bar look kind of like an island.  Many people say this is a must stop on your clubbing night, even if only for one of the exotic cocktails served there.

If you are looking for a very relaxed atmosphere, try El Leon.  This is a good place to meet up with friends and unwind.  There is no dress code and the bar also serves pizza and snacks.  Many times, some of the local street performers will come by to do a show.

If you are looking for a more upscale club, consider 12:31.  This club is really different because it closes at exactly 12:31, right after noon!  The night starts late at this club and with your cover charge, you get a bottle of alcohol.  There is a wide variety of music, including hip-hop and reggeaton.  The dress is very upscale and no denim is allowed.
