Laredo is the only city that has a bridge which connects two Mexican States. It is also the biggest inland port in the United States. The city's climate is affected by the Mexican Mountains, the Gulf of Mexico and the Northern Mexico deserts. Due to this, the weather can change from dry and warm to vicious storms and tornadoes. Snow is experienced during Christmas but it only lasts for a few hours. Washington's Birthday Celebration is the biggest event that happens annually in the city of Laredo. It starts from mid-January until the end of February. This month-long celebration encompasses the Jamboozie, which is a colorful event that is similar to the Mardi Gras.
