In the 19th century, the city of Rochester witnessed a boom in development resulted in the growth and prosperity of the city. The city is also famous for its marvelous shopping centers including Eastview Mall, Victor, New York, Pittsford Plaza Pittsford, New York, Rochester Public Market, Village Gate Square and The Mall at Greece Ridge Center etc. Rochester has a big crowd of buildings like Xerox Tower, One HSBC Plaza, Times Square Building, Bausch & Lomb Place, Chase Tower, Kodak Tower and Midtown Tower etc.

Rochester is also famous for its sights and attractions. Some of the most popular points of interest in Rochester include Kodak Park, Ellwanger Garden, SeaBreeze amusement park, Seneca Park Zoo, Strong - National Museum of Play, Midtown Plaza, Genesee Country Village and Museum, Strasenburgh Planetarium, Water Street Music Hall and University of Rochester etc.

Blue Cross Arena  is a multi-purpose indoor arena. It also serves as home to American Hockey League. The building includes an exhibit hall that hosts a number of events and live performances throughout the year.

Hamlin Beach State Park is located on the shore of Lake Ontario in Monroe County, New York. The park features picnic tables, playground and a number of recreational programs including biking, hiking, fishing, a nature trail, ice skating, ice staking, snowmobiling and kayaking.

Mendon Ponds Park  is located in the southeast Rochester. It is considered as the best bird watching destination. The birds present here include Blue Heron, Canada Goose, Virginia Rail, Scarlet Tanager, chickadees and Eastern Bluebird etc.

Geva Theatre Center  is a professional theater in Rochester. It was founded in 1972. It is the birthplace for many popular works by Gregg Coffin's and Richard Hellesen's version. A number of theatrical performances are hosted here throughout the year.
