Odesa Nightlife, Ukraine

Odesa nightlife scene is ‘steaming hot’. A Hedonist’s paradise with hosts of cafés and bistros, restaurants, bars and pubs, nightclubs, discotheques, casinos and even strip-clubs, Odesa has the best nightlife in the whole of Ukraine. The nightlife venues, especially the night-clubs, open by 11.00 pm and do not down the shutters for the entire night. And when you compare the rates, say, that of entry or drinks or food, Odesa’s bars and nightclubs emerge far cheaper than those in Kiev or Dnepropetrovsk. Add to it the glitz and glamour of the city, the bevy of Ukrainian beauties and the fashion-conscious, fun-loving crowd, you will have a partying experience like never before.

Speaking of Odesa nightlife venues, there is one piece of information that you should be aware of – the Odesa nightlife scene shifts with the changing seasons. During the summer months, the Arcadia beach area becomes the hub of all the night-time action but in the winter months the beach-side venues close down and the downtown venues get busy.

Odesa Nightlife – Restaurants and Bars

Odesa is a foodie’s dreamland as the city brings to you the privilege of tasting varied fare – Ukranian, Russian, Turkish, French, Italian, even Japanese. Most of the restaurants are in the downtown area, in the Deribasovskaya Street. However, the Ekaterininskaya Street has quite a few restaurants. For Ukrainian food, visit restaurants like Kumanets or Khutorok. While restaurants like Mario’s and Paparazzi sell some delectable Italian fare, Le Veranda is famous for its French dishes. Kobe and Yaponahata specialize in Japanese cuisine. Biba Mapia and Steak House are must-visits for their mouthwatering steaks. Some restaurants also have attached bars – Casanova has a good selection of wines and Die Familiare Brauerei has its own beer brewery. The Turkish restaurant, Turquiz also has a bar. These are only to name a few and you have many more choices.

Odesa’s bars are equally famous. Fanconi is a trendy bar. Then, there is Gambrinus, Mickey O’Neil’s Irish Pub and Wasser Maltz Biergarten. Buffalo 99 is a sports-bar.

It will indeed be an experience of a life-time as you indulge in some real gorging and downing.

Odesa Nightlife – Nightclubs

Odesa has quite a few nightclubs. Nightclub Ibiza that gives nice views of the Black Sea (because of its location on the Arcadia Beach) is rated the best nightclub despite its slightly high entry-fee. Then, there is Itaka (the outdoor club in the Arcadia Beach), which befitting its name has a very Greek-feel to it with its ancient statues, amphitheater, stairs, et al. Other famous nightclubs in the city area include names like Assol, Pago, Vis-à-vis, ‘Yo!’, etc.

Odesa nightlife will not disappoint you even if you are one who will have none of the fuss, instead take pleasure in cultural pursuits. You can always catch up a recital or a performance at the Odesa Opera House. Odesa also has a Music Club named Praetoria.
