Faisalabad Travel Guide, Pakistan

The city of Faisalabad is one of the traditional cities of Pakistan which clearly reflect the mix of historical Pakistan and modern Pakistan. Faisalabad is part of Punjab Province in Pakistan and with the population of 2.6 million inhabitants; the city of Faisalabad becomes the 3rd largest city for Pakistan in terms of population. It was known as Lyallpur in its early years but later on the name was changed to Faisalabad.

The initial city of Faisalabad was divided into six sections namely Faisalabad Sadr, Tandlianwala, Jaranwala, Chak Jhumra, Samundri, and the city of Faisalabad. Later on during the year 2005 this weird division was changed and the city of Faisalabad was divided into eight towns. These towns are Chak Jhumra, Iqbal Town, Madina Town, Lyallpur Town, Jaranwala Town, Tandlianwala Town, Jinnah Town, and Samundri Town.

The city of Tandlianwala has grown quickly in terms of education and has around six government controlled universities and 26 government run colleges. This explains the number of students that pass out every year from these institutes excelling in various fields. This has helped the city of Faisalabad gain recognition amongst education lovers in the country of Pakistan.

The city of Faisalabad has around 16 hospitals thus hardly ever you will face problems whenever you need medical treatment. These many hospitals are there to serve the huge population of Faisalabad City.

The industrial region of Faisalabad has also grown heavily in past few years and businessmen have taken lead in niches like jewelry, textiles business, pharmaceuticals, and home furniture. The transport facilities have improved exponentially and this has helped the businesses to grow exponentially too.

The place to visit is the Ghanta Ghar (the huge clock tower of Faisalabad) which is located right in the center of the city. Eight different roads originate from the tower and head towards eight different markets of Faisalabad. Each market is famous for its own style and hence you will have to chalk some time out to actually visit all of them one after the other.

All kinds of transport facilities are available for the locals and tourists who come into the city or leave the city. The Airport of Faisalabad connects the city to all major cities of Pakistan. Various highways pass through the city and hence road transport is also available. The railway connects many cities and can be used by those who aren’t comfortable with the other two means of transport.
