Cancun Nightlife, Mexico
Once the sun sets, the tropical paradise of Cancun breathes an entirely different life and the Cancun nightlife scene kicks into high gear. There is just as much to do at night as there is during the day. It has been said that Cancun has something for everyone, and this is true even after dark. Clubs, parties, restaurants, and shows are among the many things one can enjoy. Hotels are also part of the nightly festivities in Cancun, offering live music at their lobbies. This article lists some great nightlife attractions of this Caribbean hotspot.
Nightclubs and Dancing
Cancun is made famous the world over because of its nightclubs. Non-stop music, DJs, and laser light shows are just some of the things that make the club scene in Cancun quite an experience. There is music for anyone and everyone - from hip-hop to trance, reggae to salsa. Mexican nightlife definitely has something to tickle everyone’s fancy.
Coco Bongo, in the center of the Hotel Zone, is considered, hands down, one of the most happening clubs and is certainly the “place to be” in the Cancun nightlife scene. Tiered dancing arenas, flying acrobats, bubble and foam parties, and live bands all contribute to create Cancun’s one-of-a-kind party experience.
Dady’O is one of Mexico’s most popular clubs and is always a venue for non-stop dancing, famous DJs, a three-dimensional light show, themed parties, and so much more. People from all walks of life come to enjoy this international hotspot.
Another great night destination is the Bulldog Café, with its live music and laser light show. The place can accommodate about two thousand party-goers, with private party areas and a VIP room complete with a Jacuzzi. Bulldog Café is a host to a number of shows by international artists like Guns n’ Roses, Radiohead, and Shakira, just to name a few.
Restaurants and Bars
For a taste of Mexican culture, El Mexicano is the place to visit. It prides itself in being the first and only restaurant to hold folkloric ballet and mariachi shows every night. This place has been around since 1985 and offers views of live performances from nine levels.
Visitors looking to enjoy some rock music can head over to the ever-famous Hard Rock Café. Crowded and loud, this place caters to those who appreciate good live rock performances and aren’t exactly looking to party. Another option is Pat O’ Brian’s, where tourists can grab a drink and relax in a laid-back, well-stocked bar.
There is also Señor Frogs, which is a restaurant by day and a bar with a party atmosphere at night. It is home to the only waterslide in town, which leads straight to the lagoon, so visitors are advised never to forget their swimsuits. It also offers a bar tour which allows tourists to get an all-around sample of Cancun’s nightlife.
Downtown Cancun offers a more subdued kind of nightlife, more grounded with local Mexican culture. Tourists can enjoy the free concert in Parque de las Palapas. There are also several bars in the area which feature local jazz musicians. Roots blends Latin, Cuban, and jazz traditions into one scintillating musical show.
