 Location and climate 

Geographically, the city of Douala, Cameroon is situated on the Wouri River bank, with its two sides connected by the Bonaberi Bridge. This makes Douala a completely coastal city, where one can enjoy water adventure to the fullest. It is interesting to note that Douala, Cameroon is the largest city of the country, also being the capital of the Littoral Province.

Because of its close proximity to the river, the overall climate of this city is more tolerable than most other African regions. Overall the weather is moderate, mostly varying between 24°C to about 28°C. The monsoon months are July, august and September, when Douala, Cameroon experiences heavy rain falls. From the tourist point of view, these months should preferably be avoided. The rest of the year is fine for tourism. The overall climate could be classified as Tropical.

Douala, Cameroon is well known for being not only the commercial hub of Cameroon, but is also for its major port and the large international airport. Needless to say, most of the exports of the country are handled form Douala, Cameroon, especially trading goods like coffee, cocoa and oil. Most of the administration and commerce of this city is managed form the Bonanjo, a small but important quarter of the Douala, Cameroon. It is because of its economically developed sates that this city is the most expensive African city. In terms of cost of living, Douala, Cameroon has been ranked as twenty fourth in the world.

 Chief attractions Douala, Cameroon is a nice place with a variety of attractive features that draws tourists from all parts of the world. One such attraction is the Hotel Akwa Palace. then there is also the famous Eko Market of this city which not only appeals to the local people, but also appeals to the outsiders. La Nouvelle Liberté, Joseph-Francis Sumegné, Doual'art, La Pagode are other popular tourist destinations of Douala, Cameroon.  

Apart from the places to visit, the coffee houses, restaurants, bistros, bars, French type patisseries, (especially the ones along the waterfront) also act as chief attractions. Many areas along the bank of the Wouri River are well developed, that offer breathtaking views of the famous gulf of guinea amidst mango swamps.

 For those who love nature, or may be looking for a quiet leisure time, these places are must a visit. There is also a lot for those who enjoy night life. Akwa, the night life region of this city is famous for its clubs and bars.
