Caving at Vadu Crisului, Romania

After ending our hiking trip we walked a bit to a bridge. We went to the other side because we knew that a waterfall can be seen there. We were here some years ago in winter when everything was covered with snow... it was wonderful :) But we thought we should take a look in summer too :)
But before going to the waterfall we saw that the Zichy cave is now opened end anybody can go inside it. We had to pay 3 RON per person (about $1) because we looked like students (two of us really were students but the other two not... but they didn't really cared), for adults if would have been 5 RON. They organize guided tours only for groups (more than 10 persons) so the four of us could go inside without any leader or guide. The only thing they asked us was to come out in an hour.
Before entering we were asked if we want helmets... the guy said he advise us to pick one, so we did so. This was the good choice because inside the cave were parts where we could go through only if we crouched and the rocks were very close to our heads.
When we went inside nobody was there. We could touch the walls, make as many photos as we wanted and stay in a 'room' as much as we wanted. This thing had pros and cons. We and the other 'normal' people used this freedom to admire the beauty of this natural cave, but others wrote their names on the rocks... Romania... what can I say more?
This little trip inside the cave was really interesting and I would have paid even more for it because it worths it.

Iasi History
Iasi is the second most populous city in Romania and the cultural and economic centre of the historic region of Moldavia. Iasi history goes back to the Middle Ages, when the city served as a residence for the Moldavian voivodes. It hasn’t been established exactly when the city of Iasi came into existence, but it is first attested in a royal charter issued by Voivode Alexandru cel Bun, in 1404. By the middle of 15th century, Iasi had significantly grown, so that Prince Alexandru Lapusneanu chose Iasi to be the capital of Moldavia. Back then, Iasi was already a cosmopolitan city, where Romanians, Armenians and Jews represented the major... Read more »
