In south Taipei, just at the end of the Musha Line MTR, a cable car way brings you up the Maokong Mountain. The view from the cart is breathtaking and magical.

Up the hill is a Zoo, where you can watch Panda couples with their babies and on top the funicular is a renovated Teahouse that serves original Oolong tea. The best attraction though is not the teahouse but the tea plantation that can be visited all week, though it is advisable to go during the week and not in the most hot days.

Taking a visit to the mountain has been refreshing and worthwhile. It was a fun way to spend one our days in Taipei. :)

Address:
South Taipei,
Taiwan

Price:
Around 1 EUR for the cart.

How to get there:
By subway to Taipei Zoo station.

You can get from the airport to the city centre either by bus, by rail or by taxi. Some buses head straight to the city centre, but others, although slightly cheaper, make [...]
