This mosque is the icon of the city of Ahmedabad. The extra ordinary carving in windows of this mosque are world famous. It depicts the tree with intertwining branches, the carving looks like fine lace filigree work, but are hewn from solid stone. This mosque is more than 500 years old. It is also an interesting surrounded area where there is a lot of traffic, shopping streets and street hawkers. If you are not an Indian, it will be interesting to catch up with these people who sell so many things in one place. It will be very crowded on whatever day or time you go there.
