Virginia Living Museum- This highly brilliant museum offers something for visitors of all ages. It is a perfect blend of planetarium, botanical preserve, science museum, Wildlife Park and aquarium. This great establishment offers a fantastic insight into the magical marvels of creation. The natural environments are carefully guarded for various birds, mammals, plants, marine life and reptiles in order to provide an excellent overview of Eastern Coastal Plain area of the United States. The wildlife is properly protected and cared so that the visitors can easily explore and gain knowledge about the wild animals and plants along with the importance to preserve them.

 Lee Hall Mansion- One of the few homes that were preserved located on the Peninsula, this beautiful mansion was reinstated by the Newport News city and is also a great example of how rich plantation owners lived their lives before the period of the Civil War. The mansion’s rooms have been restored to its brilliant mid-1800s lavishness and opulence. There is an exhibition gallery that highlights the 1862 Peninsula Campaign.  

Mariners’ Museum- Built in 1930, the museum is considered to be a leading international museum in the entire world. Awarded as the America’s National Maritime Museum, it features a collection of about 3500 ship models, steam engines, figureheads and artifacts. Its widespread research library includes internationally well-known archival material.  

Peninsula Fine Arts Center- Sharing about 500 acres with Mariner’s Museum, the fine arts attract both kids and adults for its exceptional collection. Visitors will definitely find juried exhibits, local children’s works as well as touring collections. The greatly interactive kid’s gallery in the museum offers great opportunity to try their hands at sculpture, art activities, painting and print making. Also, the gift shop features items collected from all across the globe along with those of the works of local artists.
