This marvelous city is even the main city of Lake Charles Metropolitan Statistical Area that consists of the Cameron and Calcasieu parishes.

With more than 90 festivals and events held every year, the city of Lake Charles is also commonly known as the “Festival Capital of Louisiana”. The Central School Arts and Humanities Center of this city is an establishment that features on Louisiana African American Heritage Trail.

Lake Charles city is also a home to various small museums along with many other cultural establishments of Central School Arts and Humanities Center featuring the Black Heritage Art Gallery. Other driving attractions of this city include Imperial Calcasieu Museum and Children’s Museum of Lake Charles. The city is home to numerous denominations of Protestant Christians that comprise most of the population. Lake Charles flaunts off the considerable Jewish population that worship at the Sinai Temple.
