Being the fifth largest city of California, Fremont, CA US boasts a population of about 211,000. The city of Fremont is located within the Alameda County. Being a city of moderate climate Fremont, CA US was first settled with an establishment of the Mission San Jose. In the 1840s, John C. Fremont made a map of the trail via Mission Pass in order to offer access for the American settlers into the San Francisco Bay Area. In the year 1853, Washington Township was formed, taking in the settlements of Mission San Jose, Niles, Warm Springs, Centerville and Irvington. In January 1956, all these communities joined in order to form the Fremont city.

There are a large number of sights and attractions to visit and enjoy in the beautiful city of Fremont. Some of the famous museums that are a necessary visit include the Fremont Museum of Local History and the Niles Depot Museum.

Fremont Museum of Local History: This brilliant museum in Fremont chronicles the entire history of the city along with that of the Washington Township. Group tours are easily available through appointments at this magnificent museum that is ideally located on the Anza Street, Fremont, CA US.

Niles Depot Museum: This museum was moved to its present location in order to save the establishment from demolition in the year 1982. At present, the museum features a great selection of the railroad artifacts along with the three scaled model railroads for its visitors to enjoy.

Other fantastic sights to enjoy at this city includes art galleries, historic sites, religious sites, theatres and auditoriums, universities, theme and amusement parks, parks and gardens. The city is famous for being the sister city of Puerto Penasco, Mexico.
