ARCO US Olympic Training Center

Chula Vista has been blessed with a near perfect sunny Mediterranean climate all the year round. Naturally the favorable weather makes it possible to enjoy outdoor recreational facilities and games to the hilt. Athletes in 9 sports who will participate in the Olympics are trained and groomed here with the help of state of the art training facilities and cutting edge research and development.

Those 9 sports are cycling, track and field, tennis, field hockey, softball, soccer, kayak/canoe, rowing and archery. Free guided tours round the training center, which will enable you to watch the athletes training, are available. You can take a shopping break and indulge in some retail therapy at the Olympic Spirit Store.

Chula Vista Nature Center

Near the breathtakingly beautiful San Diego bay and situated on the Sweetwater Marsh National Wildlife Refuge will you find this nature center. The flora and fauna native to wetland/marsh habitats and San Diego bay are exhibited in this internationally reputed aquarium and zoo. It is one of the top draws of Chula Vista and tourists make a beeline for a glimpse of jellyfish, stingrays, sharks, hawks, shorebirds, endangered Green Sea turtles and other such species.

Knott’s Soak City USA

This is an aquatic or water themed amusement park guaranteeing wild adventure and countless thrills. It’s the latest addition to San Diego County’s ever swelling numbers of amusement parks. It is spread over 32 huge acres of marshland. You can experience 22 intense water rides which are all based on fifties’ San Diego coast long board and surf theme. It remains open during the summer months.

You can take your pick from 4 choices - San Diego Country Club, East Lake Country Club, Chula Vista Municipal Golf Course and Salt Creek Golf Course all of which are famed for their scenic beauty.
